De Poezenboot, also known as "The Catboat," is a floating animal sanctuary on a canal in Amsterdam. Established by Henriette van Weelde in 1966, the Cat Boat provides shelter for stray, sick, and abandoned cats and has since grown into an official charity.

The cats have access to the house through a cat door, and they can also sun themselves on the deck. Henriette van Weelde owns/manages Catboat, a cat hotel in Amsterdam that may be the best place in the city to meet cats. Each boat can house up to 50 cats at a time. All of the cats that come into our facility are neutered, vaccinated, and tagged.

Even Puss in Boots of Shrek fame visited the boat last at some point. The catboat is open to the public from 13:00 - 15:00 daily, except for Wednesdays and Sundays.
